We are thrilled to celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week), a significant occasion to honor and promote the beauty of te reo Māori. This year, we’re excited to share how we’re embracing the Māori language and integrating it into our company culture.

Empowering Our Team through Language Learning

Our proudest achievement this Māori Language Week is the ongoing participation of many of our staff in learning te reo Māori. Thanks to sessions provided by Te Rūnanganui o Te Āti Awa, half of our team is immersing themselves in the language, which not only enriches their personal and professional growth but also strengthens our connection to the Māori community and culture. We’re incredibly proud of this commitment and look forward to seeing how this learning journey will continue to enhance our workplace.

Expanding Accessibility with Te Reo Māori

In addition to our language learning initiatives, we’ve made several updates to ensure our services are more accessible and inclusive. Our website now features navigation in te reo Māori. This step reflects our dedication to making our digital presence welcoming and respectful of Māori culture.

Integrating Māori Language into Daily Interactions

We are also making a concerted effort to weave te reo Māori into our daily communications. Whether it’s through greetings or sign-offs, you’ll notice a growing use of Māori phrases in our conversations, as we strive to embed this beautiful language into our everyday interactions.

Enhancing Customer Support

Our support team is embracing te reo Māori in their ticket responses, providing our customers with a personalised and inclusive experience. This is part of our ongoing effort to provide exceptional and culturally respectful customer service.

A Fresh New Phone Greeting

We’re also excited to introduce a new phone system greeting, voiced by John from our support team. This new greeting is a small but meaningful way to integrate te reo Māori into our initial customer interactions, setting a welcoming tone from the very start and celebrating Te Wiki o te Reo Māori
